Introducing the NEW CSFM RIC Operations and Firefighter Survival

The Rapid Intervention Crew Operations course is designed to train fire fighters to rescue a downed firefighter in an immediately danger to life and health (IDLH) environment and was developed in the continuing effort to reduce the number of fire fighter injuries and deaths that occur regularly.  The RIC Operations course offers the latest in tactics and strategy for rescue. The evolutions and scenarios you will be trained with are based off tragedies suffered by fellow firefighters from departments across the country and you will be shown how to locate and use these LODD studies as training and prevention tools throughout your career.

The course focuses on the three phases of a RIC operation: 1) predeployment, 2) deployment, and 3) rescue. During the class, you will also gain a greater understanding of RIC operations terminology and the RIC mindset.

All of the courses are tought by Fire Captain Jon Woody and Fire Captain Jim Hudson who sat on the re-write committee for the new curriculum wich will be released January 1st, 2012.
